Are You Going to Fail Again This Year?
By Mr. Self Development on Feb 12, 2010 in Goal Achievement
Will this year be any different for you than last year? Is this the year you finally achieve your goals, or are you headed for a repeat of last year? What drastic changes have you made this year that will guarantee your success?
This year will only be as different as your actions are different from last year!
The “differences” in your actions are directly proportional to the change that you will see this year. So what are you doing differently?
Are you meditating daily in order to transform yourself from the inside-out? Are you working significantly harder and seeing greater outputs? Are you producing more? If you’re not, you will most likely repeat last year’s results.
If you experienced minor growth last year, then you can expect to experience minor growth this year. If you received no growth last year, then you can expect to experience no growth this year! It’s that simple.
To have a drastically different year, your actions have to be drastically different!
What Do I Suggest
I suggest you make a list of reasons why this year will be different from last year, then track those reasons weekly.
Tracking your reasons weekly will give you numerous opportunities to measure your progress and make appropriate adjustments. This way, if you fail to reach your goal, you will at least know why. You’ll know that you were capable of success, but you weren’t committed to it. You’ll know that you had the knowledge to succeed; you just didn’t put it into action.
Every Successful Person Has an Extreme Story
If you research successful people they all have extreme stories, even unbelievable stories of how they became a success; stories of triumph and pain, stories of rejection and failure, and yet unparalleled dedication in the midst of those circumstances.
What’s your story? No one’s success story is….“I watched TV three hours a day, played around at work, and the next thing I knew I was a success!” Success takes time, it takes dedication, and it takes a drastic change from what you are currently doing.
Insanity Defined
If you keep on doing what you’ve been doing, then you’re going to keep on getting the results you’ve been getting – to assume otherwise is insane.
To the degree that you change what you’ve been doing is the degree to which you will get different results. Little change, little results, big change, big results.
A Miracle
You’re not going to wake up one day and have a drastically different life, unless you take drastically different actions today. Quit waiting for a miracle and create a miracle. Create a miracle with hard work, create a miracle with focus and with bitter determination; create a miracle with time.
What’s your story?
You need an extreme story to justify your extreme success, so what’s your story? Will it be that you practiced playing the piano ten hours a day, will it be that you spent two hours a day for twenty years conducting research until you became a “top expert” …you need a real story!
In Closing
I believe you have what it takes to make this year a success, the question is, will you consistently get into action? Will you do the unusual, will you do the extreme?
