Self Confidence The Missing Ingredient
By Mr. Self Development on May 18, 2009 in Goal Achievement, Thoughts
Dear Mr. Self Development,
Why is self-confidence so important?
Corey
Well, as the famous poem goes:
If you think you’re out classed, you are
You have to think high to rise,
You must be sure of yourself,
Before you can ever win a prize,
Think big and your deeds will grow,
Think small and you’ll fall behind,
Think like you can and you will,
It’s all just a state of mind,
Life battles don’t always go,
To the stronger or faster man,
But sooner or later,
The fellow who wins,
Is the guy who thinks he can.
The fact is, if you think you can, you can, and if you think you can’t, you’re right again.
Believing in your ability is requisite for success. If you don’t believe in your ability no one else will either, and you will literally emit a “low self-esteem signal” to others without even saying a word. Others will pick-up the signal and respond accordingly (e.g. you don’t get the promotion, because you don’t believe you deserve the promotion).
When you don’t believe in your potential, you’ve become your own worst enemy.
So start believing in you today, and we will believe in you tomorrow…
