Reprogram Your Mind for Success

Dear Mr. Self Development,

How do you succeed?

Leslie

In order to succeed you must reprogram your mind for success.  In this universe everything works from the inside out, the roots produce the fruits.

Whatever is going on in your life (on the outside) is a reflection of what you’re thinking on the inside, a perfect reflection.

The me you see, is the me you will be.  This is an unfailing law.  You cannot live above the image that you have of yourself, but fortunately you can change the image.

Your image consists of the thoughts that you hold in your mind on a daily basis (the thoughts that you believe about yourself and your abilities).  Your thoughts become your actions and your actions become your character and your character dictates your life.  Change your thoughts, change your life.

People often search their entire life looking for answers on the outside, when the answers they need are on the inside.  We become anxious to change our circumstances, but many times we are unwilling to change ourselves.

You change yourself by consciously changing what you think.  If you think you’re average, then guess what, you will be average.  If you think you’re poor, then you will be poor.  If you think you’re overweight, then you will be overweight, because you will have overweight thoughts, which will lead to overweight actions, which will lead to an overweight character, which will lead to an overweight body.  Even if you go on a diet and lose the weight, you will gain it back if you don’t change the way you see yourself.

It all starts with your thoughts.  Changing your thoughts is the hardest work you will ever do, but it’s worth it.

You must reprogram your mind.  The best way to begin this process is to constantly read good self-development information (relevant to the area you’re trying to reprogram).  You should read the articles on this site as well as books that talk about self-development.  As you do this, you will wash out all of the doubt and negativity that you currently carry around in your mind. You will also begin to believe in yourself.

Keep in mind, the process of reprogramming your mind takes time.  You will be essentially uploading new information to replace all of the old information that has held you back.

Most people refuse to believe that they are responsible for what’s happening in their life.  It’s much easier to believe that they are being controlled by outside circumstances.  This makes it easy for them to justify why then are not high achievers.  People blame the government, they blame the gas prices, they blame their parents, and they blame God.  Everyone is looking outside for the source of their problem, but the real enemy, is en-a-me, or in-a-you.  It’s not your lack of education that’s holding you back; there are many successful people who did not go to college.  It’s not because you’re a single mother; over the next 10 years there will be many single mothers who will become millionaires from nothing, you can be one of them.

The truth of the matter is, the only person who can hold us back is ourselves.  As Shakespeare wrote, “the fault dear Brutus, lies not in our stars that we are underlings, but in ourselves.” This is good news, because I can’t change the government, and I can’t change the family I grew up in, and I can’t change the gas prices.  But I can change my thoughts, and I can start today.  Every moment is an opportunity to turn your life around. Today you can decide to take control over your thoughts, you can set aside 30 minutes to an hour, and spend that time thinking about the way you want your life to be. Imagine it in detail as if you’re living that way right now.  You may be thinking that’s a lot of time, but when you begin to understand that your life is shaped from your thoughts, you will realize that 30 minutes is a small price to pay.

Readers are leaders, as the saying goes.  Readers are usually people that stretch their minds from the ideas of other great people.  If you want to change your life and reprogram your mind, start reading.  If you’re not a reader, then decide to become a reader.  Learn to cultivate the joy of reading.  Build your reading muscles!
