When is the right time to go after your dreams?

That’s a great question.  Let me start by saying this, the only time that exist is the present moment. 

What you are calling your future, and what you think maybe your past, is just an illusion. 

If you’ve ever had the luxury of studying quantum physics, you know that physicists of this day do not even refer to time as being real; they’ve come to adopt the language of Albert Einstein, who said that we are living in a space-time continuum. 

Einstein believed that time could curve, that it could bend, he believed that time was essentially timeless.

Here’s my point, this linear concept of time that we call the past, present and future, is but an imagination.  What you think is your past, is really just a memory of your present, and what you’re calling your future is just an expansion of your NOW. 

The only time that exists is the present moment. It’s the only time that’s ever existed, and it’s the only time that anything can be accomplished in.  This is true for everyone, including God.

Which explains what Mimonides was trying to tell us back in the 12^th century; Mimonides, who is perhaps the greatest Talmudic scholar of the 12^th century Jewish faith, writes concerning the Mishneh Torah, that God must abide equally in the present, as in the past, and in the future, for if at any point in time God ceases to exist, then that time period would cease to exist.

What was Mimonides trying to tell us? I believe he was telling us, that if there is a God, this God would have to abide in all times, at the same time, which means, that every time would be God’s NOW.  What you call your past would be his NOW, your present would be his NOW, and your future would be his NOW.  That means, where you’re trying to go, he would already be.

What are you saying? I’m saying that there’s only one time, and it’s NOW….let’s test this out, lets go into the future, 5 seconds into the future, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, what time is it?  NOW; 10 seconds into the future, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, what time is it?  It’s still NOW, if that’s true about 10 seconds, then it’s true about 10 years, and if it’s true about 10 years, then it’s true about 10,000 years, what you’re calling your future will eventually become your past, but guess what will never become your past…..your NOW.

The NOW is eternal, it lasts forever, it’s all there is, and it’s the only time that you can accomplish anything.

You say that’s deep Mr. Self Development, but what does that have to do with my question.  Well, I’m glad you asked.

Let’s say you want to start a business, you say in three years you’re going to own your own company, but I’m here to say, that’s impossible, because your future is only an illusion, and you can’t start a business in an illusionary world, there’s only one place where you can start a business, and that’s in the NOW.

Someone else may say they want to lose weight, starting next month, but I’m here to say it’s not going to happen, next month will come and go, and guess what, they won’t have lost any weight. Why?  Because presently speaking, next month is not real, it’s only a concept that we use to relate to each other, the only time that is real is right NOW.  So until you say I’m doing it NOW, whether it’s February, January or March doesn’t matter; the only thing that matters is the decision to do it in the NOW.

What am I saying?  I’m saying if you’re going to start a company, you’re going to have to do it NOW, if you’re planning on joining Toastmasters, you’re going to have to join NOW, if you’re planning on being a day-trader, set up that e-trade account NOW, if you want to lose 20lbs, start working out NOW, if you’re planning on updating your wardrobe, purchase that first shirt NOW, if you want to be the CEO, go back to school….NOW!

IF YOU DON’T, what you are calling your past will duplicate itself into what you think is your future. 

The reality is, tomorrow never comes, when you get into what you are calling tomorrow, you will rename it today.

Go after your dreams “NOW,” because it’s the only time that exists.
